True.

I dunno, unless you thought of an extremely creative build, a hammer warrior in PvE would be fairly boring/useless. Shutting down a monk of a mob with 3 isn't that beneficial, as a trade-off. Maybe a fun hammer build would work, like FGJ, BB, On your knees, Enraging charge, rinse and repeat.

But imo, a normal single target KD hammer warrior is fairly useless in PvE, especially for all the mobs that can't be knocked down.

The main carrying strength of the PvE hammer guy is Earthshaker, it's fairly easy to knock a whole mob of casters with it. And when they're down, Crude Swing + Whirlwind Attack can build up enough adrenaline to knock them all down again.

And a constant knock-lock of an entire group is really sexy; if I've got a human Paragon with me (killing the need for DSlash/"SY!" spam), then Earthshaker is often my top choice.

Hi, my name is [wiki]Earth Shaker[/wiki] and [wiki]Whirlwind Attack[/wiki] and [wiki]Crude Swing[/wiki]

This thread can PHAIL MOAR now? Yeh, ok.

As to the topic at hand. Yes, a size increase on SOME of the hammer skins would be nice, but not all of them.

Would I be wrong in my belief that Hammers have the highest DPS of all warrior weapons? And that if their attack speed was increased that they'd be imbalanced? And that their only downside is that they're 2-handed, thus precluding the use of a shield?

I could be wrong

I agree at the embarrassment of teeny hammers though - my War is almost exclusively Axe, and the Factions endgame axe he got is terrible. There's nothing worse than a big warrior with a tiny chopper :/

Sure, hammers have good usefulness in PvP, however, my assumption was that this thread was referring to PvE, which could have been a wrongful assumption. I will take the heat for that, if I am wrong in that.

However, my stance still does not change. Hammers in PvE = trash.
3k hours huh? Well I guess alex is right you dont have to be good at the game.

Hammers are good in pve too. You just can't be a braindead Ursan way nub to use them.

Add Yeti smash. Crushing blow.

Really, as far as owning stuff and being usefull in PvE goes, hammers are so good that i use Goren when vanquishing. (shame his WY! had to go...)

Then maybe all the non knock down hammer skill should be remove from the game.

Hammer are more then just KD, just like warriors are much more then just TANK.

1-Female warriors use hammers. I swear.

2-Anet have buffed some hammer attacks. Don´t cry. Hammers with a big IAS= imbalancing.

I'd like to restate again that THIS THREAD IS THE DISCUSSION OF THE SIZE OF HAMMERS, PURELY AESTHETIC! I AM NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT THE ABILITIES OF HAMMERS. I don't think enough people understand me, and whoever posted about scaling by size of the player, that is a great idea

My Victo's Maul does nicely, it's big and spiky... but yes, we need some bigger, more impressive hammers, not just big hunky chunks of wood on a stick.

Here is a bunch of different hammers. Some of them are small, others are pretty nice sized. Take our pick.

I'd like to comment that in real medieval times, hammers weren't actually that big. Generally the hitting part (I forget the name) would be the size of an adult's fist at most.

Your huge Guild Wars hammers are about as realistic as those retarded Final Fantasy swords.

Argh - reminds me of my first trip to TA. Was coerced into playing monk, much against my wishes. Match started, Hammer Warrioress sprinted to me...

...didn't get a single damn spell off ><

...slinked off back to PvE where I belong.
